Personal Information DNA Testing

A wide range of other biological relationship tests

We also conduct a wide range of other biological relationship tests such as sibling tests (full or half brother/sister), avuncular (uncle/auntie) and grand parentage tests.

DNA Tests For Legal Purposes For The General Public

Accredited DNA tests

We are accredited by the Ministry of Justice as a body that may carry out parentage tests directed by the civil courts and for legal reasons such as to change a Birth Certificate.

DNA Tests For Immigration For The General Public

For visas, citizenship, passport or leave to remain

We are accredited by the Ministry of Justice as a body that may carry out parentage tests directed by the civil courts. This means our DNA tests can be used to support applications for visas, citizenship, passport or leave to remain. If you require a full parentage (maternity and paternity) report, there is an additional charge of £96.

Operations Update: Coronavirus (Covid-19)

Please note! We remain open and are conducting DNA testing for the public for both personal information and legal DNA testing purposes. There may be the occasional delay due to factors outside of our control, but otherwise it is business as normal. However, the coronavirus crisis raises questions about buccal swab sampling for DNA testing and we would ask you to please read the provided notes (see FAQs page) carefully.

With private tests, we ask you to self sample and we give guidance on how to do this. With legal tests, you need an independent sampler to take the samples and this person will need to have a face to face appointment with you. Often this is to fulfil the requirements of a court order and we would be very grateful for your co-operation with the new procedures for the protection of all concerned in the cheek cell sampling for a DNA test (see FAQs page).

We operate nationally and internationally and send kits to multiple destinations if required.

For our personal information DNA test, when you order your DNA test we will send you a password to our secure portal via email and we will also send out your kit by first class post. When we receive the DNA test samples back at Complement Genomics Ltd we will also give you an anticipated completion date. As a dadchecksilver customer, you will also receive a copy of the results by post.

Do you require a DNA test suitable for legal purposes?

This could be for changing the name on a birth certificate at the Registrars office, family court proceedings, inheritance disputes, liaison with either the Child Support Agency (CSA) or for the immigration authorities. DNA testing for these purposes requires a different level of service, as a 3rd party must verify the identity of the donor and take the samples. This type of test is sometimes called an "accredited" or "legal" test.

Please note that we are one of only a few companies in the UK which are able to provide a DNA testing service suitable for legal purposes.

Complement Genomics Ltd t/a dadcheck is accredited by the Ministry of Justice as a body that may carry out parentage tests directed by the civil courts of England and Wales under section 20 of the Family Law Reform Act 1969.
